Description of knitting a poncho for women

Back. Cast on 36 stitches on the knitting needles and knit with the main pattern, while between the edge stitches start with the given middle 34 stitches of the pattern (= from double arrow to double arrow). At the same time, for the side rounding of the bottom on both sides in every 2nd row from the initial row, 1 x 15 p., 1 x 12 p., 1 x 7 p., 1 x 5 p., 2 x 4 p., 5 x 3 sts and 5 x 2 new loops and include them in the pattern = 180 sts. After 15 cm = 34 rows from the initial row, reduce 1 x 1 sts for a raglan bevel on both sides, then in the next row 1 x 1 sts and in every 2nd row 2 x 1 p., then * in each row 2 x 1 p. and in every 2nd row 2 x 1 p. (= knit the edge with the previous or subsequent loop, respectively, together according to the pattern), from * repeat 16 more times. After 62.5 cm = 144 rows from the initial row, set aside the remaining 36 stitches.

Left shelf. Cast on 32 stitches on the knitting needles and knit with the main pattern, start from the 27th row of the pattern and distribute the loops as follows: start with 1 edge and loops before repeat, then knit 1 loop to arrow A, finish with 1 edge. At the same time, for the lateral rounding of the bottom on both sides in every 2nd row from the initial row, 1 x 12 sts, 1 x 10 sts and 1 x 7 new loops and include them in the pattern = 90 sts.

After 3.5 cm = 8 rows from the initial row, decrease for a raglan bevel along the right edge 1 x 1 p., then in every 2nd row 3 x 1 p. and in the next 4th row 1 x 1 p., * in every 2nd row 4 x 1 p. and in the next 4th row 1 x 1 p., from * repeat 7 more times. Simultaneously with the beginning of the raglan bevel, decrease 27 x 1 stitches for the neckline bevel along the left edge in every 4th row. After 51 cm = 118 rows from the initial row, set aside the remaining 18 stitches.

Right shelf. Knit the same as the left front, but in a mirror image, and distribute the pattern in the same way.

Sleeves. On the knitting needles for each sleeve, cast on 37 stitches and for the placket, knit between the edges with a “braid” pattern. After 9 cm = 20 rows from the initial row, knit 2 rows with stockinette stitch, while in the front row between the edge stitches, double each loop (= from each loop knit 1 knit and 1 knit crossed) = 72 stitches.

Perform the next purl row as follows: cast on 8 new loops, inside the next 72 sts, evenly add 18 sts (= knit 1 purl crossed from the transverse thread) and at the end of the row cast on 8 new loops = 106 sts. After 10 cm = 22 rows From the initial row, continue working with the main pattern, while distributing the pattern from the middle and starting from the 35th row of the pattern. At the same time, for the raglan bevel, decrease on both sides alternately in every 2nd and 4th row from the bar 49 x 1 p. After 64.5 cm = 148 rows from the bar, set aside the remaining 8 p.

Back border. Cast on 53 sts on the knitting needles and knit without edges as follows: 8 sts with a small pearl pattern, 45 sts with a braid pattern. After 119 cm = 268 rows from the starting row, cast off all stitches.

Shelf border (= 2 parts). Cast on 53 stitches and knit similarly to the back border. After 52.5 cm = 118 rows from the starting row, cast off all stitches.

Assembly. Sew borders with the left side edge to the lower edges of the shelves and back, including the curves of the lower edge, and fit accordingly. Sew raglan seams, with the sleeves going into the top approx. 12 cm borders of shelves and back. Sew the remaining side seams of the borders, as well as the seams of the sleeve strips.

For the collar, alternately cast on the reserved loops of all parts = 88 sts on circular knitting needles. Then, starting with 1 purl row, knit 4 cm = 10 rows with an elastic band. In the next purl row, continue working with a pattern of “braids” (the pattern is knitted from the inside and after turning the collar away it is visible on the front side of the product), while starting with 1 edge and the last loop of the repeat, repeat the repeat constantly, ending with 1 edge. After 12.5 cm = 28 rows from changing the pattern, continue working for the collar strap with a small pearl pattern. With a strip width of 2 cm, close all loops according to. pattern.

For the front panels, cast on the knitting needles along the sides of the shelves, including the ends of the border and collar, 156 stitches each and, starting with the 1st purl row, knit with a small pearl pattern. After 3 rows from the beginning of knitting the strap, make 8 holes for buttons in the strap of the right front as follows: close 2 stitches and pick up again in the next purl row. The first hole for the button is made 44 stitches from the bottom edge, the next 6 holes are made at intervals of 14 stitches, the 8th hole is made at intervals of 9 stitches. With a placket width of 8 rows, bind off all the loops according to the pattern. Sew buttons, while sewing the bottom 6 buttons from the outside, sewing the top 2 buttons from the inside to the left shelf strip.
