Sleeve length at seam – 45 (45, 46, 46, 46) cm.
Necessary materials:
Yarn Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted (100% wool; 200 m / 100 grams per skein) – 10 (11, 12, 13, 14) skeins, 9 buttons with a diameter of 20 mm.
Required tools:
Knitting needles No. 4 and No. 4.5.
Knitting density:
34 loops and 28 rows = 10 cm of knitting pattern, made with knitting needles No. 4.5.
Back:
Using size 4 needles, cast on 170 (188, 204, 222, 238) stitches.
Starting and ending with the indicated loop, knit the pattern according to the pattern as follows:
Knit rows 1-12 twice, then knit rows 13-20 once, finishing with a purl row.
Change knitting needles to number 4.5.
Next, repeating rows 21-48, knit until the knitting height reaches 42 (42.5, 43, 43.5, 44) cm, finishing with a purl row.
Armhole formation:
Cast off 9 (10, 11, 12, 13) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows – there are 152 (168, 182, 198, 212) stitches on the needles.
Dec 1 stitch from each row in the next 9 (11, 13, 15, 17) rows, then in every 2nd row 9 (12, 12, 13, 12) times - on needles 116 (122, 132, 142, 154) loops.
Continue knitting straight until the armhole height reaches 20 (21.5, 23, 24.5, 26) cm, finishing with a purl row.
Neckline and shoulder slant:
Next row (knit): cast off 8 (8, 9, 11, 12) stitches, knit until there are 28 (31, 34, 37, 41) stitches on the right needle, turn the knitting, transfer the remaining stitches to the stitch holder.
Knit each side of the neckline separately.
Decrease 1 stitch from the neckline side in the next 4 rows and simultaneously cast off 8 (9, 10, 11, 12) stitches at the beginning of the 2nd row and then at the beginning of the 4th row.
Knit 1 row straight.
Cast off remaining 8 (9, 10, 11, 13) stitches.
On the front side, slip the central 44 (44, 46, 46, 48) loops onto the loop holder, attach the thread to the remaining loops and work the row to the end.
Knit the second side like the first, only in a mirror image.
Left shelf:
Using size 4 needles, cast on 82 (91, 99, 108, 116) stitches.
Starting and ending with the indicated loop, knit the pattern according to the pattern as follows:
Knit rows 1-12 twice, then knit rows 13-20 once, finishing with a purl row.
Change knitting needles to number 4.5.
Next, repeating rows 21-48, knit until the height of the knitting reaches the height of the back to the beginning of the armhole, ending with a purl row.
Armhole formation:
Cast off 9 (10, 11, 12, 13) sts at the beginning of the next row – there are 73 (81, 88, 96, 103) sts on the needles.
Knit 1 row straight.
Decrease 1 stitch from the armhole side in the next 9 (11, 13, 15, 17) rows, then in every 2nd row 9 (12, 12, 13, 12) times - on 55 (58, 63, 68, 74) loops.
Continue knitting straight until the knitting height reaches 20 (20, 22, 22, 24) rows less than the back before the shoulder bevel begins to form, finish with a purl row.
Neckline:
Next row (knit): knit 45 (48, 53, 58, 64) stitches, turn the knitting, transfer the remaining 10 stitches to the stitch holder.
Decrease 1 stitch from the neckline side in the next 8 rows, then in every 2nd row 5 (5, 6, 6, 7) times - 32 (35, 39, 44, 49) loops on the needles.
Work 1 purl row straight.
Shoulder bevel:
Cast off 8 (8, 9, 11, 12) stitches at the beginning of the next row, then cast off 8 (9, 10, 11, 12) stitches once at the beginning of every 2nd row.
Knit 1 row.
Cast off remaining 8 (9, 10, 11, 13) stitches.
Right shelf:
Knit as the left front, only in a mirror image, and complete the first row of the neckline formation as follows:
Next row (front): [knit 1 loop, knit 2 loops together] - 3 times, knit 1 loop and slip the next 7 loops onto the loop holder (for tying the armhole), knit to the end of the row - on knitting needles 45 (48, 53, 58, 64) loops.
Sleeve:
Using size 4 needles, cast on 78 (82, 86, 86, 88) stitches.
1st row (front): 0 (2, 0, 0, 1) purl loops, *2 knit stitches, 2 purl loops; repeat from * to last 2 (0, 2, 2, 3) stitches, 2 (0, 2, 2, 2) knit stitches, 0 (0, 0, 0, 1) purl stitches.
2nd row: 0 (2, 0, 0, 1) knit stitches, *2 purl stitches, 2 knit stitches; repeat from * to last 2 (0, 2, 2, 3) stitches, 2 (0, 2, 2, 2) purl stitches, 0 (0, 0, 0, 1) knit stitches.
These two rows establish the repeat of the elastic.
Knit another 16 rows with an elastic band, ending with a purl row.
Change knitting needles to number 4.5.
Next knit as follows:
1st row (front): 0 (0, 0, 0, 1) purl loops, 2 (4, 6, 6, 6) knit loops, *2 purl loops, 6 knit loops; repeat from * to last 4 (6, 0, 0, 1) sts, purl 2 (2, 0, 0, 1), knit 2 (4, 0, 0, 0).
2nd row: 0 (0, 0, 0, 1) knit stitches, 2 (4, 6, 6, 6) purl loops, *2 knit stitches, 6 purl loops; repeat from * to last 4 (6, 0, 0, 1) stitches, 2 (2, 0, 0, 1) knit stitches, 2 (4, 0, 0, 0) purl stitches.
3rd row: knit the first loop twice, [1 (3, 5, 5, 0) knit stitch, cross 6 loops to the right (3 loops slip onto an additional knitting needle while working, 3 knit loops, 3 knit loops from an additional knitting needle)] – 0 (0, 0, 0, 1) times, *2 purl loops, cross 6 loops to the right; repeat from * to last 4 (6, 8, 8, 1) stitches, 2 (2, 2, 2, 0) purl stitches, 1 (3, 5, 5, 0) knit stitch, knit last stitch twice - on knitting needles 80 (84, 88, 88, 90) loops.
4th row: 0 (0, 1, 1, 0) knit stitches, 3 (5, 6, 6, 0) purl loops, *2 knit stitches, 6 purl loops; repeat from * to last 5 (7, 1, 1, 2) stitches, knit 2 (2, 1, 1, 2), purl 3 (5, 0, 0, 0).
These 4 rows make up the repeat of the sleeve pattern.
Continue knitting pattern, adding 1 stitch from each edge in the 3rd row, and then in every 4th row, until there are 100 (104, 104, 116, 124) loops on the needles, then in every 6th row until there are 116 (120, 124, 128, 132) stitches on the needles. Knit the added loops with a pattern.
Continue knitting straight until the knitting height reaches 45 (45, 46, 46, 46) cm, finishing with a purl row.
Sleeve roll:
Cast off 9 (10, 11, 12, 13) stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows - 98 (100, 102, 104, 106) stitches on the needles.
Decrease 1 stitch from each edge in the next 5 rows, then in every 2nd row until there are 74 loops left on the needles, then in the next 19 rows, ending with a purl row - 36 loops on the needles.
Cast off 6 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.
Cast off the remaining 24 stitches.
Assembly:
Sew shoulder seams.
Neck strap:
Using knitting needles No. 4 and on the right side, slip 7 loops of the right front from the stitch holder onto the right knitting needle, attach the working thread, cast on and knit 22 (22, 23, 23, 25) loops up the neckline of the right front, 5 loops down the right side of the back neckline, knit 44 (44, 46, 46, 48) back stitches from the stitch holder as follows: 1 (1, 2, 2, 0) knit stitch, [2 knit stitches together, 1 knit stitch] – 7 (7, 7, 7, 8) times, [1 knit stitch, knit 2 stitches together] – 7 (7, 7, 7, 8) times, 1 (1, 2, 2, 0) knit stitch; cast on and knit 5 stitches up the right side of the back neckline, 22 (22, 23, 23, 25) stitches down the left front neckline, knit 10 left front stitches from the stitch holder as follows: 1 stitch pattern, [2 stitches knit together, 1 loop with pattern] – 3 times – on knitting needles 98 (98, 102, 102, 106) loops.
1st row (purl): 2 knit stitches, *2 purl loops, 2 knit stitches; repeat from * to the end of the row.
2nd row: 2 purl loops, *2 knit loops, 2 purl loops; repeat from * to the end of the row.
These two rows make up the pattern's repeat.
Continue knitting with an elastic band until the height of the binding reaches 9 cm, ending with a purl row.
Close all loops.
Left shelf strapping:
Using size 4 needles and right side, pick up and knit 136 (140, 144, 148, 152) stitches along the edge of the left front from top to bottom edge.
1st row (purl): 1 knit stitch, *2 purl loops, 2 knit stitches; repeat from * to last 3 stitches, purl 2, knit 1.
2nd row: 3 knit stitches, *2 purl loops, 2 knit stitches; repeat from * to last stitch, knit 1 stitch.
These two rows make up the elastic band repeat.
Knit 5 more rows with an elastic band, ending with a purl row.
Close all loops.
Right shelf strapping:
Knit as for the left front, making 9 button holes in the 4th row:
4th row (front): 5 (2, 6, 3, 7) elastic loops, *knit 2 loops together, 1 yarn over, 14 (15, 15, 16, 16) elastic loops; repeat 6 more times, knit 2 loops together, 1 yarn over (8th hole), 10 elastic loops, knit 2 loops together, 1 yarn over (9th hole), 5 elastic loops.
Sew the sleeves into the armholes. Sew side seams and sleeve seams.
Steam a warm jacket.
